Introduction to Talloc

Talloc provides a hierarchical, reference counted memory pool system with destructors. It is the core memory allocator used in Samba.

This package is known to build and work properly using an LFS-7.6 systemd platform.

Installation of Talloc

Install Talloc by running the following commands:

./configure --prefix=/usr &&
make

To check the results, issue make check.

Now, as the root user:

make install

Installed Libraries: libpytalloc-util.so, libtalloc.so and talloc.so (Python Module)
Installed Directories: None

Short Descriptions

libtalloc.so

contains a replacemnt for the Glibc malloc function.
